Our Story

The story of the Woelfel Homestead began in 1857 when George Woelfel, an immigrant from Rollhofen, Germany, purchased 80 acres of land in Charlestown, WI to start a dairy farm. The farm has been in the family and lovingly maintained by his descendants ever since. Over the last 15 years, my parents, Roger & Cathy Woelfel have hosted family weddings, reunions, and private gatherings at the farm.

Iā€™m Jon Woelfel (6th generation). I grew up mending fence, picking stones, and milking cows in the barn with my dad and grandpa, just as they did with theirs. I moved away to pursue my dream of making wine on the west coast but the call to return home to the farm could not be ignored and the timing was right for the Woelfel Homestead Farm Venue to open its doors to the public. So with much family support and encouragement, my wife, Kerri, and I are excited to open the barn doors as an event venue that honors the rich agricultural history and pristine beauty of this area.

Together we have had over 10 years of experience working to create a life and home that reflect our deepest values. We look forward to helping you host an event that reflects your deepest values, and creates memories that you and your guests will cherish for a lifetime.

We look forward to welcoming you to the homestead.
